logo design
The 48 Force Support Squadron (48 FSS) is responsible for providing entertainment and recreational activities for military members and families stationed at RAF Lakenheath. Their mission is to increase morale and establish a sense of community to ensure troop readiness.
When I started working for their Marketing Department, the squadron had just implemented a new branding strategy. Under new leadership, our team wanted a brand refresh in order to modernize and simplify the artwork. I was tasked with creating the logo design and all supporting branding elements.
Keeping their knight mascot in mind, I sketched out ideas and worked with my team to finalize all artwork before importing to Adobe Illustrator where I completed the vector design.
brand mark
This brand mark serves as official representation for the 48 FSS and is used in all social media, print, digital, and video marketing materials.
I ensured the versatility of the branding by creating one-color versions in dark and light colors.

branding roll-out
My team and I developed and executed a brand roll-out strategy, beginning with our largest event of the year, Liberty Fest. I started by creating an animation to introduce our new logo, which was displayed on social media and digital screens throughout the squadron. This short video shows the evolution of the logo design from pencil-drawn sketch, to a fully developed logo design. This video was intended to introduce our audience to our new branding and give them a peek into the creative process.

To engage the community, we organized a coloring contest featuring our mascot, Sir Vis, dressed as Uncle Sam. The contest was promoted in At Ease magazine, and coloring sheets were distributed across the squadron for children to participate. The Base Commander judged the entries at Liberty Fest, and the winners were announced live at the event and on our social media platforms. Additionally, we distributed newly branded merchandise at Liberty Fest to reinforce our new knight's image and strengthen brand recognition among our audience.
expanding our branding
The 48 FSS has a wide reach and wanted to expand their logo to encompass all the areas their brand covered. I designed variations of their logo that embodied every color of the FSS rainbow. From travel & education to 18+ events & concerts, their branding stretched across the force support spectrum ensuring the brand was represented on all advertising and
marketing materials.
letterhead & business cards
To show the versatility and importance of consistency across the board, I designed business cards and a letterhead to function for official communication and correspondence for the marketing department of the squadron.
Business cards and letterhead both designed in Adobe Illustrator.
